Introducing Albus
Today I’d like to introduce Albus. Albus is a very special boy who found himself at a local equine rescue. This precious little man was in bad shape and staff worked around the clock to save him. How fortunate I was to be approved to adopt him. He can be a shy boy at times. He loves scratches between his horns and behind his ears. He loves his food and in one photo he’s watching me feed the mini horses before him which to him is just not right 💜 His favourite snacks are carrot (cut up small), berries and small amounts of bread. 🙏🏻💜🦋🌸Albus is a beautiful boy, full of a cheeky personality 💜 🐐His best mate here is Oreo the Ewe who I’ll introduce tomorrow.
Beautiful Big Boy George!
Today I would like to introduce our beautiful big boy George to you all. Most of the Joyful Pilgrim crew have come from various pet adoptions or rescues around Victoria. George was a little different, he came through a different channel to us from the Echuca horse sales. The poor boy was not in great shape when I went to pick him up, he was severely under weight, his coat was dull and he had no sparkle in his eyes.
Introducing Angel
Introducing Angel. Angel and Magic came here together and are the best of mates, quite often zooming around the paddocks full of glee. Angel is absolutely adorable. She quite often gets the gold star for being the best behaved with the farrier and the equine dentist, But she is also a little firecracker, full of sass. She loves her dinner and any and all snacks. She brings a smile to us all everyday with her antics. She’s a little lady with a big big personality
Today I’d like to introduce Magic
Today I’d like to introduce Magic. I met this very handsome man at a local equine rescue. I was wanting to offer some equine Reiki to some of the beautiful souls at the rescue and the wonderful staff recommended I work with Magic. When I met this sweet little guy, he was so completely shut down. His whole body would tremble if you tried to touch him, he was difficult to catch, he showed so much fear and distrust. After a few weeks working with him, he started to come closer to me and would quietly stand next to me, but still not want to be touched or patted.
Introducing Oreo
Introducing Oreo. Oreo is a pure delight. She was born a twin and unfortunately her mumma decided two was just too hard and poor little Oreo was rejected by her. My beautiful friend Cate took Oreo inside her home and bottle fed her and raised her. Cate very kindly allowed me to adopt Oreo and when she moved in, her and Albus become best mates. Oreo is a sassy little queen 💜 Her favourite treat is bread and she’ll knock you down for it. She will undo your shoe laces and nibble on your clothing. Being hand raised and not spending time with sheep, and being raised around dogs, she spends her life often acting like a dog. Not long after she moved in with us and only a couple of months old, she somehow broke a back leg and she had to spend six weeks in plaster. Thankfully the vet was able to save her and she healed up as good as new. Oreo is as sweet as sweet can be.
